This is dark and exciting from the beginning. The main character is a villain and quite ruthless. Take controls of you love one's power and destroy your enemy is cruel but how the story grows is just beyond what I predict. I thought she'll be good eventually but she's so not. Her way of vengeance is amazingly satisfying.

Adelina met a new love interest that I thought will be good for her, but well, true villain never care about love doesn't it? I was kinda hoping that she'd kill Raffaele because, as sweet as he is, he's still evilish. And Enzo, I need more story of how he'd be doing after. The plot twist here is insanely good. Some question I had from the first book got answered here and I wouldn't guess it this way, which makes the story so good because it's unpredictable.

Ugh I hate when a good book is over. Next book please come soon. Because I'm dying to know how they'll be with Adelina as queen and the Daggers on the run. Pleeeaaassseeeeee Marie Lu........

At first, the story doesn't really excite me. It's boring life story of a troubled teen who cope with being nonmagical person in a magical family. It's weird feeling reading it. But half way through the book the story gets interesting. The plot twist successfully entertain me. I never would've guessed that his brothers are bad guys.

I found a few thing bothering me though. I can't understand why his brother could be so evil to him. I thought family means everything to them, but it's not. Turning your little brother to be a killing machines without hin even knowing is really bad. And all that for money? I also would want to know more about Maura and the song she heard, what's that all about? Why is she leaving Philip? And Baron, he was supposed to be the good brother but he's even more heartless.

Other that that I really enjoy this book. The mystery keep me guessing through the pages and I really didn't see that coming by the end. It's really exciting.

The Young Elites (The Young Elites #1) by Marie Lu

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina's black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family's good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever's survivors are rumored to posses more than just scars - they believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.
Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it's Teren who may posses the darkest secret of all.
Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they've never seen.
Adelina want to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn't belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.
It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

I loooooovvvveeeee this book. It is common for the main character to posses a power of all the good things. But this, this is far from that. Adelina just a dark personality with dark past and dark magic. Her ability is drawn by fear and anger. She is definitely a badass.

The plot twist successfuly keeping me on the edge while reading it. It's kinda sad that no one trust Adelina, but hey, that is what make everything interesting. She'll be able to be stronger with that. I drop few tears when Raffaele cut his connection with Adelina, and all the stuff he said that hurt her. I start to think that he is the bad guy in the story. Although Teren is definitely the ruthless one, but the most delicate person could do the most damage right.

Adelina and Enzo is hot, but I kinda get some vibe that something will develop between Teren and Adelina, I would love to see that in fact. Teren and Adelnia got a lot in common, also the darknes in Adelina doesn't affect Teren, so that could be the relationship cue, right?

At the end of the book we got a little spoiler of how exciting the next book will be. I'm so looking forward to read The Rose Society.

Review

When I read the title I was kinda think that this book will full of action. Yet I got a romance story. From the begining of the book untuil the end, I didn't get excited by the story. It's pure romance story from the start. If you like romance then you'll love this book.

The description of their love struck actions are very nice. I like how Morgan made Levi as the gentleman that would make every reader wonder if they could find someone like that. You can guess that Reece and Levi falling in love with each other but, Morgan sure keeping us guessing with their action.

I would love if the author give more story for Harrison. He is the fun one and I was hoping for something more than just a side kick. Overall story seems like a journal of Reece's everyday activity in the palace. I find some part boring and I need to read more than once to really get back to the story line because I get too lost in the romance detail.

It's also disappointing when the enemy seem to be doing nothing to get the key. I'm not really satisfy with how the plot goes. I find some missing story to tie some event and even the main antagonist character appears to be a lot like a cameo. It's not giving me that umph vibe. Like I said, if like romance than this is the book for you. But if you're like me who like a little bit of tense while reading, then it might just bored you.
